In California, this strain is sometimes mistakenly called Cherry Pie, or rather, some people think both Cherry Pie and Cherry Kush are the same thing.
While Cherry Pie traces its roots to F1 Durban (F1 x Durban Poison) and Grand Daddy Purple, Cherry Kush has a different set of parents.
Cherry Kush, a powerful Indica-dominant hybrid, comes from the mix of Purple Afghani and OG Kush. As you can see, both are distinct strains.

Effects
Cherry Kush has a strong body high effect, but some consumers may experience a cerebral high at the onset when using this strain.
On the upper side, once the effect of this strain creeps in, you are going to start feeling uplifted. As such, thoughts that plague your mind causing stress starts to fade away.
This is a potent strain that gives you complete body relaxation. As such, use a little too much and it might leave you couch-locked.
So, depending on the time of the day or the things that you need to do, this is either good or bad for you.
It is good if you need to calm yourself down, relax and chill. But if there are things to do, then the last thing you want is to use a little too much.

Cherry Kush is the kind of strain that first brings you to a high, and then slowly brings you down as its sedative qualities start to kick in.
Fragrance
Cherry probably has the kind of smell that is almost always favorable to any person.
Here, this strain does not disappoint as it comes with a pungent smell and the sweet aroma of cherry, but with a slightly earthy undertone.
Flavors
This strain is one of the better tasting medical cannabis you could ever use. Not only is it smooth, but also, it has a pleasant, sweet and fruity taste of cherry.
In some cases, perhaps this is due to the quality of the harvest, or other factors, it may also come with a trace hint of citrus.
We don’t currently sell Cherry Kush seeds. Check out other indicadominant seeds in our marijuana seed bank.
Adverse reactions
Any potent strain should be used with caution by new users and first-time users of this strain.
The same adverse reaction that can be expected includes dry mouth and eyes. This is completely normal in the use of cannabis.
Staying within conservative limits, then this strain will give you all the benefits as mentioned in effects and medical usage in the next section.
But when you use a little too much, or once you exceed your tolerance, then there might be other reactions that do not benefit you at all.
For some people, they may experience a mild headache or bouts of dizziness. On rare occasions, some may also experience mild paranoia, which probably is a result of the surprise in how potent Cherry Kush is.

Medical
Because of the cerebral high and uplifting mood enhancing qualities, Cherry Kush is often used for relieving symptoms of stress and anxiety disorders including depression.
Aside from that, it could also be used for relieving the symptoms of minor chronic aches and pains, including headaches, migraines, and muscle spasms.
Aside from that, Cherry Kush could also improve appetite as you are bound to feel hungry as its effect begins to subside.
Unfortunately, it does have a low level of CBD, which means that this is not the right strain if you were to use it for seizures.
One other use of Cherry Kush is that once the effects begin to settle down and fade, you may feel tired.
This helps people who have insomnia or trouble sleeping get the much-needed rest for complete body recovery.
