Bird’s Eye was born and bred to meet Canada’s ever-growing medical marijuana market.
A copy of the legendary Dutch Sativa Jack Herer, it induces a euphoric cerebral high balanced by an energetic body buzz.
Not only that, its terpene levels are quite high, giving it a very distinct aroma and flavor.
Canadian licensed producer Tweed markets a variety of the 90s staple Jack Herer (Northern Lights #5 x Shiva Skunk x Haze) as Bird’s Eye.
These three are among the most influential and most powerful strains of all time.
While the first two contributed to the excellent growth of the strain, it was the latter that gave it is iconic Sativa effects.
More importantly, all helped create a marijuana plant that offers excellent medical benefits.

An uplifting buzz from the temples gradually ebbs down to envelop the body in relaxation. Even though such effects are pronounced, it does not crash the soaring euphoric high. Usually, the strain’s mental stimulation and soothing body high go hand in hand to make Bird’s Eye a great wake-and-bake strain.
In moderation, Birds Eye is a stupendous daytime smoke. If one were to overindulge in such a potent strain accidentally, however, the effects can be quite crippling. A potent Sativa, it can cause rapid thoughts and leave users stuck to the couch.
Fragrance
Bird’s Eye has a sweet citric aroma that’s accented by subtle hints of pine. A pleasant herbal scent enhances its pepper undertones.
Flavors
Bird’s Eye tastes just like oranges. When drawn in, the sweet citrus turns into a refreshing pine. On the exhale, a spicy but savory note takes over the palate.
Adverse Reaction
So far, there are no adverse reactions reported for Bird’s Eye, but this is because it is relatively new to the medical marijuana market. Still, users should expect the strain to cause dry mouth and eye. Thankfully, these are mild and very typical with cannabis use.
Another thing to note is that the pronounced cerebral high may cause some dizziness and even slight anxiety. Such side effects are usually the result of overconsuming the strain.
Medical
When compared to other high-CBD strains, the CBD value of Bird’s Eye is not that remarkable. Instead, the therapeutic benefits it offers are the result of its high psychoactive compounds. As such, its medical benefits are consistent with that of other recreational strains.

Growing
Unfortunately, Tweed’s proprietary hold on Bird’s Eye makes it unavailable for home growing. But, as a medical strain, it is likely that the strain is cultivated indoors as licensed producers would prefer to cultivate their products in a controlled environment. The strain, itself, is likely to flower abundantly in such settings.
Bird’s Eye is quite similar to Jack Herer in terms of growth pattern. It grows tall and bushy. Aside from that, its branches may need to be supported to prevent them from snapping under the weight of the plant’s massive, resinous buds.
Flowering Time
Indoors
Once its 8 to 9-week flowering period is over, Bird’s Eye yields between 8 to 12 ounces of buds per square meter.
Outdoors
By the end of October, growers can harvest more than 12 ounces of beautiful buds from each Bird’s Eye plant.
