  2. I had 2 Blueberry seeds from Cropking. I am growing outdoors in California between SF and SJ. One was male, and the female is in a 10 gal cloth pot. First flowers showed on 12-Aug, we now have 8 weeks complete. Trichomes are probably 30% amber when looking at them with an 80x loupe. The plant is 4 ft tall, with 9 main cola’s. In the last 3 days I have seen a few buds with damage and confirmed that I have some corn worms. I picked them through and cut down 1 cola. If i see more worm damage I may take it all down in the next day or 2, though I would like to leave it for 1 more week. The buds are not as big as a Original Skunk #1 which was grown on the same schedule. The Blueberry reached 4′ and they Skunk about 3′ (though I planted it at a 45 deg angle so it may be the same length). The buds on the Skunk are larger and there seems to be no interest in it from the caterpillars. The grow was easy enough, but I developed purple stems early on and was never able to shake them. I took 3 clones and will try to keep it going and to do better next time. I take the plants out during the day, and have a small space with LED lights to extend the light period.

  3. Place: Somewhere on Vancouver Island, Canada
6 pack of regular Blueberry seeds from Crop King successfully germinated on April 8 and planted into 10 gallon fabric bags with promix soil on May 1 (also germinated and planted 3 bubba kush and 3 CBDutch Treat from 3 year old seed we’d gotten earlier from Crop King – which is an awesome seed co BTW)
1 plant went male in July
1 plant went herm in September
Daily feeding with Botanicare Nutrients Pure Blend Pro (Grow, Cal-Mag, Bloom) at recommended rates (awesome organic nutes).
Topped, trained and groomed. Supported with tomato cages and long bamboo stakes with rubberized wire from a greenhouse supplier
8+ hours of direct sunlight every day through the end of July and then 5+ hours until September. Typical daily high temperature June – August was 20C – 32C (68F – 90F). In September and October the daily high dropped to 15C (59F) with lows of 5C (41F). We got 4 inches of rain in September but had moved them under a plastic awning to keep them out of the rain.
First date we had less than 12 days of darkness was September 8 – and that’s when the Blueberry plants started to form buds on the tops. The CBDutch Treat was 3 weeks earlier than that and the Bubba Kush began to bud a week later.
The 3 CBD Kush were 6′ tall and ready to harvest on October 1 – we’ll have a pound between the 3.
The Bubba Kush were 5′ tall and very bushy plants with massive buds – but we had very high humidity and not a lot of sun for about 10 days in Sept and we noticed a touch of powdery mildew which we got on early with apple cider vinegar and a few days later we noticed a touch of bud rot so we harvested them about a week before we would have preferred. The 3 will also yield about a pound.
We flushed everything for 2 weeks before harvesting
It’s October 6 and the blueberry plants have under-developed buds that have lots of trichomes which are still clear – the pistils are still white. We’re still getting rain every few days but it looks like we might get a week of sun before now and October 15. The temperatures are 15C (59F) max and we’ve had a low of .5C (33F). Leaving them go further presents the risk of bud rot, powdery mildew, mould and so on.
SHOULD HAVE FORCED THEM INTO FLOWER 3RD WEEK OF JULY!!!!!
The tops might be worth smoking but we’re going to have a lot of small under-developed buds and so we’ve ordered up a 5-bag Bubblebag Hash kit and as soon as that arrives we’re going to harvest the 4 blueberry plants and make ourselves some hash. When life deals you lemons – make lemonade!
We’ve got ~$400 Canadian ($300 USD) in to a pound of seriously rankedy-dank Bubba Kush and a pound of CBDutch Treat which is a low THC high CBD strain that generates a light uplifting buzz. The Blueberry are large 6′ tall plants with a lot of under-developed bud and I expect we’ll get a quarter pound of tops and run the rest through the bubble bags for a couple of ounces of good hash (I hope).

  4. Original bluebery is @ 4′ tall and over 4′ wide with a tap of two inches, she is in a raised bed of composted soil and hydroponic mediums and will hit over into the neighbors wall in another foot, I have bent and restrained her with hemp line and staves but wondering how many hr’s of sunlight this girl will need to start flowering? being she is now over 4 months old. today’s light about 14 hours 17 minutes?

    • Tor,

You are just into the shortening of days. Cannabis does not flower until there is a dark period of at least 12 hrs., uninterrupted. Plant some stakes and a low perimeter line around your grow and keep tying her down. You will be well rewarded for your efforts. Happy harvest ahead. 🙂
