My first smoke was Acapulco gold in the late 70s , golden and more seed than bud , however last year a friend grew some & the high was great , so I am now in the 5th week of flowering my own plant with monumental sized buds & with an aroma to match , this plant grows outside, but I bring it into a dark space with circulation for 12.5 hours a day , I struggled at first to get it to flower at 12 hours, so dropped another 30 minutes with great success, right now the tops are so heavy the plant struggles to hold itself up . I have found this plant very easy to grow, even here in the UK ( nowhere near as hot & sunny as Mexico) I am just waiting for crystals to go opaque & I will harvest & cure , once tried I will post back here with my results, this plant is growing alongside gorilla glue & must say the yield of AG is double the GG & have just started another 2 AG plants .
Yes I have experienced Acapulco Gold.
Acapulco gold is a pure sativa. There is no no indica in it’s genetics.
I’m going to try it anyway they say it’s hard to grow for a first-timer but I’m going to take my chances on it because I’ve only had it a couple of times and they was killer weed wish me luck
Even in the uk it is easy to grow & well worth it
Acapulco gold is the only mary jane that truly made me a better drummer, coming up with beats I never knew I had in me. Great Times.

The last time I had Acupulco gold it was 1973. I was back from nam. Really was golden in color and fluffy. I believe they sun dryed. Very potent. I’m currently growing Acupulco gold at day 27 of flower. I know it’s not a pure landrace anymore but I’m very curious to compare to what used to be.
I don’t understand what flowering is is it when it starts budding or when you start growing it
Patrick, if I’m not mistaken there was a process involved by tying or cutting bud stems in later flower in order to turn the buds golden colored? I cant remember details unfortunately. Rich
I grew AC from random bag-seed many years ago and lost it to cops…
its high was the quickest i’ve ever experienced.
instant first-toke stuff, and how…
It was somewhat smaller than its companion sativas, was symmetrical conical and its pistils were large fluffy-white so that at peak-flowering it looked like it had been snowed upon.
its absolute soaring effect would often hit me and my SO at the exact same time.
I don’t know if i’ll ever find it again but germinating, in hope, as many old timers haze as i can is about all i can do?
I’ve grown Acapulco gold and it’s the best stain I love so far such a smooth uplifting buzz
I smoked it back in the 70s.
It was very Yellow.
We used to compare it to the color of a Sxhool bus.
Super smell, and taste.
The high Absolutely amazing.
I wonder how they made ot so yellow.
Never seen it that yellow from todays Grows
Growing this strain right now in Kona,HI…we are a Lil over 3 months in and 35 days into flowering…this strain loves the interchanging, rain, bright sunny and often overcast weather.Colas are developing very nicely..seems to take a pretty good beating from the off on daily down pours. This is one strain that I believe can do well here in the Hawaiian Islands…Cannot wait to see end results..the smells are exactly described as above tutorial states…Very stoked on this plant..lucky enough to be here in Hawaii to apply my semi-professional gardening thumb.
Yes, I remember it, it came in brick you had to break it up and the seeds; you want to talk about seeds you lite one up, pop goes the seed, and burns a hole in your newly bought Gant shirt. You move your arms and you will see tracers, you feel good and enjoy doing stuff not like some other stuff that puts your head in the dirt while other people poke and make fun of you, “he/she is stoned and cannot move”
Yes I like it. “ Acapulco Gold”
